3. Products and Product Information
We aim to ensure that all product information, pricing, descriptions, specifications, images, and availability shown on our website are accurate and up to date.
Battery fitment information, specifications, and descriptions are provided as a guide only. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the product is suitable for their vehicle, equipment, or application before purchase. This includes checking the battery size, voltage, capacity, CCA rating, terminal layout, polarity, hold-down type, charging requirements, and application suitability.
If you are unsure whether a product is suitable, please contact Battery Bill before placing your order.
4. Pricing
All prices shown on our website are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise.
We reserve the right to update pricing at any time without prior notice. While we take care to display accurate pricing, errors may occasionally occur. If a product has been listed at an incorrect price, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund any payment made.
Freight, delivery, fitting, call-out, or other service charges may apply and will be shown where applicable before checkout is completed.
5. Orders
Orders placed through our website are subject to acceptance and product availability.
After placing an order, you may receive an order confirmation email. This confirms that we have received your order, but it does not guarantee that the order has been accepted, fulfilled, or dispatched.
We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or refund an order where:
-
The product is unavailable
-
The price or product information was incorrect
-
Payment has not been received or has failed
-
The order appears fraudulent or suspicious
-
The product is not suitable or safe for the requested application
-
Delivery cannot reasonably be completed
-
We are otherwise unable to fulfil the order
If we cancel an order after payment has been made, we will refund the amount paid using the original payment method where possible.
6. Payment
Payment is required at the time of placing an online order unless otherwise agreed.
We may accept payment by credit card, debit card, online payment methods, or other payment options shown at checkout. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Battery Bill does not store your full card details.
For approved trade account customers, separate trade account terms may apply.
7. Shipping, Delivery, and Collection
Delivery options, freight charges, and collection options will be displayed at checkout where available.
Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may vary depending on product availability, delivery location, freight provider, dangerous goods requirements, public holidays, and other factors outside our control.
The customer is responsible for providing correct delivery details. We are not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, or additional costs caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information.
Risk in the product passes to the customer once the product has been delivered to the address provided, collected by the customer, or received by a person authorised to accept delivery on the customer’s behalf.
If a product arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible and provide photos of the product, packaging, and delivery label where applicable.
8. Product Suitability and Installation
Batteries must be selected and installed correctly. Incorrect selection, incorrect fitment, incorrect polarity, incorrect charging, vehicle electrical faults, or unsuitable application may damage the battery, vehicle, or equipment.
Battery Bill is not responsible for damage or loss caused by incorrect installation, misuse, incorrect application, faulty vehicle charging systems, parasitic drain, reverse polarity, incorrect jump-starting, overcharging, undercharging, or use outside the manufacturer’s specifications.
Where Battery Bill provides fitting or diagnostic services, those services are provided with reasonable care and skill.
9. Returns, Refunds, and Warranty
Returns, refunds, and warranty claims are handled in accordance with our Returns & Refund Policy and applicable New Zealand law.
Products must be returned to Battery Bill for testing and assessment before a warranty claim, replacement, or refund is approved.
A flat or discharged battery does not automatically mean the battery is faulty. Battery issues may be caused by vehicle faults, parasitic drain, charging system faults, incorrect use, or lack of maintenance.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other applicable New Zealand law.
10. Consumer Guarantees Act
Where you are purchasing as a consumer, you may have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. These rights may include guarantees that goods are of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, match their description, and are delivered in acceptable condition.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies.
Where products are purchased for business purposes, and it is fair and reasonable to do so, the parties agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 may not apply to that transaction.
